Having been a member of York Natural Environment Trust since the early days and guerrilla tree-planted on St Nicholas Fields when it was still wired off, campaigned for Clifton Backies when it was threatened with development, spent twenty odd years working on Rawcliffe Meadows, and been one of those behind York’s Green Places I’ve finally found the time to put this index together, seeing as no-one else seemed prepared to cross borders, boundaries or territories and do it.
